Is #Gun Violence an #Anger or #Mental Health Issue?

gunviolenceGun violence is one of the issues that needs to be addressed for the nation and nobody really knows where to start. Some people feel guns should be outlawed for civilian use. Other people contest that’s a direct violation of the second amendment, which entitles us the right to bear arms for our protection. A psychiatrist who’s written about mental health and gun violence points-out that it’s not about mental health as it is an ‘anger’ issue. Or we could address the issue like smoking. According to this story, common good needs to be the goal by changing public perception of guns. Are guns as deadly as cigarettes? Some people with a predisposition to become schizophrenic are more likely to have a schizophrenic break if they smoke. It’s a dopamine thing. Can guns trigger that same neurotransmitter effect?
