@fatjoe Knows Why #Diabetes Ain’t #Cheap

cashcowDiabetes is an alarmingly expensive disease. Add-up the cost of healthy food, designer medications, and the test strips, sensors, and rising cost of insulin and the register’s gonna blow. Yes, insulin is one of those life-necessary medications that continues to rise, despite the market being saturated with options. At the rate the nation is going, the governing powers need to grow a pair and control the spread of the manufacturer’s cost and the price you pay. In a perfect world, there’d be rainbows and butterflies. In a world ridden with diabetes, we see test strips and co-pays. If diabetes is the “cash cow” of the pharmaceutical industry let’s slaughter the pigs that are inflating the price tags. Just an idea. As expensive as diabetes maintenance is, diabetes complications put the pharmaceutical industry profit margins all the way up.
