The #FrenchFry Experiment on #Mars

potatoesWelcome to the space age, folks. Here and now, Global Potato Research is a thing. It’s not just a scene out of “The Martian” either. This experiment was a proof of concept that if civilization as we know it ended – how could we survive? Given the uncertainty of extreme weather conditions and anything else that is erratic in life (everything), scientists embarked on an experiment to see if potatoes would grow in Mars-like conditions. This experiment isn’t about product excellence. It’s all about the minimum needs to grow a potato. The most robust variety of potato will be determined in future experiments. The experiment was setup to mimic the air pressure, temperature, air quality, and nutrient delivery in the “soil” of the planet. If you’re a french fry fanatic, this is your jam. Come hell or high water – you’ll never be without your potatoes. What a world.
