runningWhen it comes to living longer – some of us have thrown in the towel. For those fighting the good fight, researchers say you can add a few years by running. Obviously people with bad knees will not be down for the lifelong challenge but those willing to go the extra mile will reap measurable benefits (no pun intended). It’s not just about the “runners high” but that definitely has a little to do with it. Runners live about 3.2 years longer than non-runners. Since were getting down to semantics for those who can sustain a decent pace, you need to put in 150 minutes per week. For those people who can run like they stole it at a high intensity pace, you only need to invest 70 minutes of your week. Honest question – can they just break this down into beats per minute? I hate when the gym has to fill out accident reports because I fall off the treadmill.
