Why #DIabetes is a #Thugs to Me

ThugIf you’ve lived with diabetes for a minute, you’ve formed an opinion on it. To me, it has assumed the role of a thug. A criminal or a thief can actually be locked-up but this character doesn’t have a persona of its own. It’s part of you. He freeloads off of your good health. He rears his head as high blood sugar and if you don’t see him early — he gradually and methodically steals your sleep, your vision, your good mood, your energy — in a nutshell, your life. He stole the greater part of my thirties from me. This is the reason why I’m determined to stop this thug in his tracks by providing families an easy and painless early detection kit to see high blood sugar without needles and without blood. My doctors have joined forces with me and I’m putting high blood sugar on notice: I’m coming for you. Never again will you steal a healthy life from a child, a mom, a dad, a spouse, a friend, a grandparent, any body of any age. I’m on a mission. My doctors and I formed the nonprofit Dip a Stick for Diabetes to ensure high blood sugar doesn’t go unnoticed until it steals your health.
