It’s a brand new world out there. The Mars Project is moving forward and scientist are hypothesizing that sex on Mars between the chosen bunch from Earth may create a new species of ‘human’.
Mars can support exploration but it may not be the most ideal setting for the creation of human beings. For one thing – the solar radiation may significantly reduce a man’s sperm count. NASA needs to work on creating a way to edit DNA to be resistant to solar radiation. Is that possible?
Furthermore, if any swimmers make it to “base” and there’s a fertilized egg in the womb, females have lower immune systems once they are pregnant. In a lower gravity environment, it’s even lower. This leads to a higher risk of infection during pregnancy that could increase the chances of pregnancy loss.
For what it’s worth, it sounds like if any babies result from the Mars Project – they’re going to be super humans. I wonder if these people are aware of their Herculean task at-hand. It takes a fabled super hero to move mountains. What will it take to recreate the human race on Mars?
Of course this isn’t going to be happening for 20-years. With all the things we’ve yet to learn and come to realize, do you think anybody will get cold feet about the mission? I’m sure there’s a blockbuster in the works already for what may come from it. Hollywood is always so on-point with their visions. How funny would it be if all the Mars “Martianas” secretly don’t want kids anyway? LOL
