Generation #StupidSex or No Thanks?

A study finds that more teens nowadays are abstaining from sex. However the teams that engage in sexual activity are choosing to do so with high-risk behavior.

The CDC reports that in approximately 25-years, the number of teenagers who engage in sexual behavior has dropped 54%. The survey is still anonymous so it’s unlikely it’s because kids are more willing to admit to their deeds than they were 25-years ago. However, those who fess are bold to admit they’re not necessarily safe about it.

But the bad news about the sexually active crowd nowadays is that they’re not nearly as worried about sexually transmitted infections as their parents or significantly older siblings. The rate of teens using condoms is 10% lower than it was in 1991.Are you a part of the stupid sex group or the abstinence alleys? Often times, the stupid mistakes we make as sexual teenagers can follow us well into adulthood. The abstaining alleys are gaining the experience of purity as the cold, tough world will adulterate them eventually.

As a socially awkward overweight teen who blossomed into a somewhat respectable-looking adult, I’m glad I was sheltered from so much of Pandora’s Box has shown me in the last 10-years. However I will say that the judgement of a teenager compared to that of a 40-year old adult are like asking a 14-year old to file your taxes. Useless.

As the study point out – a majority of teens nowadays are avoiding the forbidden fruit of sex. However those that take a bite – are doing so without condoms. Why make the kind of mistake in your teen years tot might haunt you for the rest of your life? If you’re willing to invest the time for a place to do it, invest a few bucks for an insurance policy it won’t affect the next few years of your life. Hope for the best but ensure the impossibility of the worst.
