Blame It On the #Testosterone

Why is it men blame women for craving expensive taste but women never  give men a hard time about the same thing? Until now, the jury’s been out on the culprit behind expensive taste in men. A new study is showing us that it’s all about the testosterone.

A study titled, “Single-dose testosterone administration increases men’s preference for status goods” explains it all. Not only does testosterone stupefy men and their machismo attitudes but it’s also shown to attribute to men’s taste for more expensive goods.

In no way is this study meant to be a finger-pointing exercise but it certainly does help explain why certain types of men are drawn to certain types of lifestyles.

Quite literally, testosterone is the male hormone responsible for the development of secondary sex characteristics. What are those characteristics you ask? Unlike their primary sex organ – it’s all about the je ne sais quoi that makes a male attractive to a female.

Maybe it’s his cologne? Maybe it’s his taste in clothes? Maybe  it’s his income bracket? Long story short, no pun intended, it’s not his shoe size. Can testosterone boost his confidence and conviction to get what he wants?

And this, boys and girls, is why testosterone can influence a man’s taste in expensive items. Is this saying that biologically women are drawn to men with expensive tastes? Shame on you, Mother Nature.
