Can #Stress Really Making You #Sick?

If anybody ever tries to tell you stress doesn’t make you sick – they are wrong. Devil’s advocate would say stress makes you stronger but it definitely challenges your immune system.

According to this study, stress can increase your chances of developing an autoimmune condition. Stress takes effect on the body in three stages. First you feel anguish. Second you begin to physically feel the discomfort. Third is exhaustion. When you’re tank is empty, the immune system is vulnerable.

Stress is the price you pay for entry in the carnival of life. The trick is figuring out how to best deal with it so that it does not adversely affect our body.

Healthy cells are not designed to live forever. In fact, they have something programmed into them that predetermines the day they die.  This is a process called apoptosis. Is the whole body so different than a single cell?

Doctors acknowledge people who are immunosuppressed are more likely to get sick and more prone to developing cancer. The American Cancer Society acknowledges that stress can increase your buddies chances of developing cancer by weakening your Meehan system.

Can we not conclude that stress in effect lowers weakens your immune system thereby increasing your chances for getting sick? Cancer a sickness. With the remarkable breakthrough of immunotherapies doing a respectable job of treating it – one might say cancer is a weakness in the immune system.
